MedEvac Vehicles: Transformed From Used Civilian Cargo Vans
Through close cooperation with then NGO “Fritt Ukraina” and Ukrainian partners, we are developing cost-effective, durable, and highly functional medical evacuation vehicles based on used civilian cargo vans.
This initiative demonstrates the strength of dual-use solutions, where civilian vehicle platforms are transformed to serve both military and civilian rescue operations.
The result is a flexible, reliable, and scalable capability that supports medical evacuation in conflict zones, disaster areas, and remote environments with limited infrastructure.
Showcasing the successful conversion of standard 4x4 Transporters (long edition, automatic transmission, rear hatch) into fully mission-ready MedEvac platforms, by combining practical engineering with operational experience from both military and humanitarian environments, our conversion process focuses on reliability, simplicity of operation, and field-maintainability.
Each vehicle is equipped with critical systems and equipment that ensure safe and efficient casualty evacuation under demanding conditions:
- Full emergency warning system including blue lights and siren
- Red and white rear lighting to support night and low-visibility operations
- Dedicated seat for the medic with ceiling-mounted grab handles for stability
- Manual, robust ambulance stretcher with mattress and restraining belts
- Wall-mounted brackets for essential medical equipment
- Rear compartment heat exchanger for climate control in cold environments
- Defibrillator and other core emergency medical devices
- Transfer mattress and backboard for safe patient handling
- Large equipment bag configured according to MARCH/TCCC principles
Included products
Ferno F2 Monoblock H69 incl mattress & belts
Transfer Mattress for Military stretchers - 12 Handles
Transfer Mattress for 4-point restraint Military stretchers - 12 Handles
BaXstrap Spineboard - Military Green
These vehicles are designed to meet the needs of frontline medics who often operate under extreme pressure and rapidly changing tactical situations. By utilizing civilian Transporter platforms, we ensure low acquisition cost, easy access to spare parts, and straightforward maintenance procedures—crucial advantages for units operating in the field.
Our custom-built MedEvac Transporters have already proven themselves as a dependable resource for Ukrainian medical evacuation teams. They represent a practical, scalable, and immediately deployable solution that strengthens health preparedness for both military and civilian users.
For Ukraine, these vehicles contribute directly to saving lives in ongoing operations. For international partners, they showcase how smart reutilization and dual-use innovation can deliver high operational value with limited resources.
