Lifesaving Ferno equipment to the Ukrainian Front
Ferno Norden Military Systems has signed a NOK 27 million agreement with the Norwegian Defence Material Agency and the Nansen Fund to deliver lifesaving medical evacuation equipment to Ukraine.
A key part of the delivery includes two stretcher models: the classic Ferno NATO four-fold field stretcher with a matching Germa MOD mattress, and the green Ferno Scoop stretcher (product links below) - designed for patients with spinal, neck, and fracture injuries.
Both models are highly requested by Ukrainian forces operating under extremely challenging evacuation conditions near the front.

Norwegian Deputy Minister of Defence Andreas Flåm recently visited Ferno to learn more about the project. “It’s crucial to get the wounded out quickly and take care of them. These stretchers make that possible - and help more soldiers return to duty faster” said Flåm during his visit.
Frank and Torgeir from Ferno Norden have witnessed how the nature of the war in Ukraine has changed. Where medical teams could once operate 1.5–2 kilometers behind the front, they must now be positioned at least five kilometers back due to the widespread use of thermal and FPV drones. This increases the need for robust equipment and advanced medical capability close to the frontline.
The classic NATO stretcher, now being supplied, has proven indispensable - lightweight, foldable, and designed for long-distance evacuations in difficult terrain.
“In Ukraine, soldiers often have to carry the wounded for three to four kilometers. You need a stable stretcher that can handle that strain” says Rebnord.
Ferno Norden Military Systems is proud to contribute its innovation, technology, and experience to help save lives and support Ukraine’s medical services in one of the world’s most demanding warzones.
