Ferno Norden Military Systems joins NORDSEC defence and security cluster
Ferno Norden Military Systems has joined the defence and security cluster NORDSEC, strengthening the cluster’s overall capacity within medical equipment and evacuation technology. With deep expertise in Medical Evacuation (MedEvac), Casualty Evacuation (CasEvac), and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), we contribute specialised knowledge and operational capability to collaborative efforts focused on defence, security, and crisis preparedness.
This follows the same membership model recently applied by NORDSEC when welcoming new industry partners, reinforcing the cluster’s focus on practical, deployable solutions.

Specialised medical systems for military operations
As part of the Ferno Norden Group, Ferno Norden Military Systems has built a strong and highly specialised portfolio within prehospital medical equipment, medical evacuation solutions, and tactical first aid systems for military users. Our products and systems are in active use within defence sectors across several NATO countries.
Our deliveries include evacuation solutions, blood transport systems, and medical equipment engineered for demanding field and operational environments. Today, we hold framework agreements with both the Norwegian Armed Forces and the Swedish Armed Forces, and we have recently entered into a five-year agreement with NSPA for the delivery of rescue stretchers. These long-term partnerships reflect trust in our technical competence, reliability, and operational understanding.
Value of collaboration within NORDSEC
Through our membership in NORDSEC, Ferno Norden Military Systems gains access to closer industrial collaboration with other suppliers in the cluster. This enables participation in joint projects, shared development initiatives, and an expanded network within the Nordic defence and security industry.
The cluster provides a strong platform for exchanging experience and co-developing solutions with partners that share a focus on operational readiness. Several of these collaborations are already established, creating a solid foundation for further joint deliveries and innovation.
Joint solutions and deliveries in support of Ukraine
Ferno Norden Military Systems already collaborates with NORDSEC member companies on the development of container-based medical solutions. One example is the Flexipod Clinic, a mobile field hospital based on container technology. Developed in close cooperation with industry partners and humanitarian organisations, this solution has recently been delivered to Ukraine as part of international support efforts.
In addition, we have designed and equipped multiple medical evacuation vehicles for Ukrainian forces. This includes the development and delivery of specially adapted CasEvac vehicles, built on Volkswagen Transporter platforms, which were delivered to frontline units during 2025. These vehicles were configured in close dialogue with operational personnel and Ukrainian medics to ensure robust, functional solutions adapted to real-world battlefield conditions.
We have also supplied critical medical equipment, including blood transport and transfusion systems, used by Ukrainian evacuation units in the field. These deliveries form part of ongoing efforts to provide life-saving equipment where it is most urgently needed.
Strengthening defence preparedness through industry cooperation
Membership in NORDSEC highlights the growing role of specialised Nordic industry within the defence and security sector. Ferno Norden Military Systems sees strong value in cross-disciplinary cooperation, where military requirements and humanitarian considerations are addressed in parallel.
Based on extensive operational experience, not least from recent engagements in Ukraine, we look forward to continued collaboration with industry and institutional partners to further develop resilient, mission-ready medical and evacuation solutions for demanding operational environments.
